I need two crowns on my teeth and got an estimate from my dentist for almost $1,600.00. Can i purchase dental insurance that will help cover the cost of this. if so, is there a waiting period before I can get the work done or will it cover it right away? Do you know of a good dental insurance that I can purchase privately?

I have insurance that is self-funded through my work, but it only has $1,000 a year in allowance. I wonder if I could privately go through Blue Cross/Blue Shield and purchase an additional dental plan. I am presently on a COBRA plan with my health insurance, which is still ongoing, but my COBRA dental insurance runs out at the end of this month.
