dental implant?

dental implant?
Does it work 100% of the time? Do you always have to wait 4 months for the bone to heal after the extraction? Is a bone graft normal, is the dentist making more money on me? Average price for this job?

Atomin:  i had one, my front upper incisive. It took many months!!!
First they drilled the hole and implanted the screw, then after some 5 months the applied the pole, with a provisional crown, then the definite crown after a couple months. This time is needed for the bone to heal around the implant and the gum to heal too. A bone graft is only needed when you don't have enough bone to bear the implant. I was getting impatient with it, but now I'm very happy with my implant. If I were you I'd ask for a second and third opinion from dentists!

dentalcare32:  Yes, it works 98% of the time (which is as good as 100% success rate). But before you can be given a dental implant you have to be a good candidate for same. Who is a good candidate? The one who has good jaw bone. If there is a deficiency, then bone graft is needed for sure. The time frame of 4 months given by your dentist for the best of two stage surgery is correct. Believe your dentist as all are not rogues.

If you cannot afford locally, look for your dental work overseas where dental implant and crown may cost around US$1200 plus your travel expense. It may not be worth traveling abroad for one dental implant, though it may provide your opportunity to enjoy your holiday for free. Make an internet search in yahoo, google or msn and enjoy, for example: affordable and best deal implant dentistry in india.

Clinton:  Dental Implant surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.
